Stock Images of the sail boat Saphire sail number NY15 cruising down the coastline of New England. The New York 32 former name was Mallard and Dauntless was designed by Sparkman & Stephens , built in 1936 by Henry B Nevins in City Island NY. Her overall length is 45 feet long. In 1935, when the New York Yacht Club was looking for boats to replace the “Thirties” created by Herreshoff, their requirements included blue water seaworthiness in addition to grace and quickness. Olin Stephens and the Nevins Yard met the challenge, specifying oak frames (1 5/8″ on 8″ centers), heavy Philippine mahogany planking, and a low, solid deck house, all without sacrificing speed or beauty. Originally priced at $11,000, the New York 32’s have stood the test of time, with about two-thirds of the original fleet still sailing. Photography with brilliant colors and tack sharp details pop off the page or wall. We have an extensive collection of nautical stock and marine fine art photography. Water, wave pattern, beach, ocean wave, ocean, surf , splash
